A Rare Visitor to Florida

In December 2013, we had an extremely rare visitor to our area. Ms. Snowy, as she would be called, flew all the way from the Arctic down to Little Talbot State Park here in Florida. It was only the third time a snowy owl (Bubo scandiacus) had been spotted in Florida.

My Lighthouse Quest

It’s official; the decision has been made to, at least in my eyes, kick off the ultimate quest.

This quest will be to photograph every single, solitary lighthouse in the United States. What the heck, I might even throw in Canada for good measure. Merriam-Webster defines a quest as “a long and difficult effort to find or do something,” and with over 800 lighthouses in the US, my quest certainly seems to fit that definition.
