I hope you all are having a great summer. I’ve been busily planning my big trip to New England. We’ll be staying in Narragansett, Rhode Island for five days before heading to the top of New Hampshire and spending a few days in Pittsburgh then heading back south to the Maine coast. I can’t wait to go!
I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend. Tropical Storm Alberto passed by and brought us lots of rain. Hopefully, this super early storm is not a sign of things to come for the 2018 hurricane season.
This month’s wallpaper is of sea oats at the beach here on Amelia Island. The sea oats only bloom in the summer and make our dunes even more beautiful. I’m very blessed to live in a place with such gorgeous beaches.
We seem to be having an extended Spring here in Florida. The temps usually start to rise by the end of April, but this year they’ve stayed low and more importantly the humidity has yet to arrive. Yeah!
This month’s desktop wallpaper is from an evening walk on the beach here on Amelia Island. I was actually supposed to be taking a brisk walk for exercise that evening, but the colors were just too amazing to pass up. I didn’t get very far on my walk, but I think it was worth the loss of burned calories.
Springtime in Florida is my favorite time of year. The temperatures are still cool, and there’s zero humidity. I travel as much as possible around the South during this time of year before the temps start to rise in May.
This month’s desktop wallpaper is from Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia. I’ve tried several times to catch the azaleas in full bloom and finally had success a few weeks ago. The avenue of oaks leads to the older Victorian section of the cemetery where the most beautiful monuments and headstones can be found.
One place I love to visit every year is Sapelo Island. It’s located just five miles off the coast of Georgia and is a quick ferry ride to get to. This year we decided to skip the regular tour and instead, we rented a golf cart!
